A Quickstep Master Installer, I have been a qualified joiner since 2014 when I finished my 4 year Apprenticeship which helped me to complete my level 1, 2 and 3 in Joinery and Carpentry.  I achieved NVQ and Diplomas with City and Guilds. I have been working in the industry ever since which means I have 8 years of knowledge and experience behind me.
I started my own company JDLM Joinery back in 2015 and have worked with a few different people along the way during which I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin and Sam from Doors and Floors Direct where new opportunities arose.
Here is a picture of my wonderful family on our wedding day in 2018. My wife Danielle and our daughter Olivia aged 4.

I am a time served Joiner and started my Apprenticeship in 1982, working on building sites until I was 21. 
My career then led me to become a Shopfitter which involved me travelling around the UK fitting out hotels, banks and high street retailers, for example Top Shop, Principles, Dorothy Perkins and Burtons to name a few. 
In 1995, after the birth of my daughter, I made the decision to work back in the local area. Hardwood flooring was just starting to become popular and I took on a role with a local flooring firm working in both domestic and commercial properties, fitting hardwood and laminate flooring to homes, schools, sports halls, squash courts etc.
In 2008 I decided to set up my own business and have built up a strong customer base. In 2020 I was delighted when my son Sam joined the family business.  We both pride ourselves on a high quality and professional fitting service.  
For those who have hardwood floors, we provide a sanding and sealing service to bring new life to old and tired floors.

For over 16 years, since leaving school, I have been working as a Joiner.  Since 2015, I have managed my own business, RWS Joinery.
I studied my trade at Newcastle College and due to my enthusiasm and drive, I passed the course over 18 months earlier and was one of the first Joiners in the North East to pass an NVQ in Floor Fitting.
Since passing that course, I have attended trade shows for B&Q, presented internet videos showing how to fit flooring for a major flooring company and designed a training course for one of the top flooring brands, Quickstep®.  I have also been part of the TV show, 60 Minute Makeover promoting the flooring manufactured by Quickstep®. 
My daily work varies from preparing subfloors to loft conversions and I also specialise in fitting all types of flooring, internal and external doors, creating beautiful staircases, architraves and skirting as well as many other aspects of joinery work.

I started my career fitting furniture where a high quality of work was essential.  In 2004 I started to fit wood flooring and therefore have many years experience of this.  I also offer services fitting internal doors, skirting boards, architraves and all other joinery work.
